Intention Setting for 2025: My Tips for Getting Your Little Ones Involved
As 2024 comes to an end and we shift our focus to 2025, it's a beautiful opportunity to reflect on the past year and set intentions that will guide us through the next twelve months. As a mom of two young boys, I find that intention setting is not just about personal growth, but it can also be about nurturing a positive environment for my family. Here are some ideas to get the kiddos involved in planning your 2025!
Family Vision Board Party
Creating vision boards isn't just for adults! It's a fun, creative activity that you can do with your kids. Make it a family event, complete with snacks and music to pump up the fun factor! Here are some ideas to get you started:
Collect Fun Materials: Let the kids pick out colorful papers, stickers, and markers. Their creativity knows no bounds!
Dream Big: Talk about what excites them for the new year. Encourage them to think about what they want to learn or try.
Display Proudly: Once the boards are complete, we hang them somewhere everyone can see it as a daily reminder of our dreams and goals for 2025.
Setting Mini-Goals
For young children, the concept of goal-setting can be simplified into small, achievable tasks. Here are some ideas:
Daily or Weekly Goals: These could be as simple as trying a new food, reading a new book, or practicing a musical instrument.
Monthly Goals: These might be a little bigger than daily or weekly goals and they could build on the smaller ones. For example - read 4 books a month or practice 10 hours. Showing how you can take your daily or weekly goals and build on them to achieve monthly goals is a great stepping stone for bigger year-long goals.
Celebrate Successes
We all love to have fun and celebrate (and I don’t think I know anyone who loves it more than my boys)! So why wait until the end of a month or year to celebrate our wins?
Make sure to acknowledge and celebrate everyone’s achievements, no matter how small. It builds confidence and a sense of accomplishment (and it’s pretty fun too!)
By setting intentions and incorporating the kids in the process, you are creating a nurturing and supportive environment. As we embark on this new year, I’m excited to see how these practices will shape our journey. Here’s to a year filled with love, laughter, and growth!
